Bridging Short Films to Feature-Length Cinema

ProofPoint is designed for filmmakers looking to transform their short films into full-length features. This curated section exclusively showcases Proof of Concept films—shorts crafted with the vision of evolving into feature-length narratives.

In today's industry, a great screenplay alone isn't enough to secure funding. Investors seek tangible proof of a filmmaker’s storytelling ability, craftsmanship, and production competence. Your short film serves as a compelling pitch, demonstrating your talent and potential, not just for the project but as a filmmaker worth backing.

Curated films will be screened at Cinépolis, Sector 17, during CinéV-CHD and included in the CinéVault Video Library, offering producers and investors a firsthand look at these promising projects.

Filmmakers worldwide who have created a short film with the intention of developing it into a feature are eligible to apply. Only fiction shorts will be considered, including animation shorts and pilot episodes for web series. Applicants must provide a screening link to their existing short film as part of the submission process.

The application fee is INR 6000 (+GST).
The application fee towards this application does not include Market registration fees.
Your applicable fee is non-refundable, even if you choose to withdraw your project post submission of application.

1. All films submitted to ProofPoint will be included in the CinéVault Video Library. Technical Specifications to upload your film in CinéVault

Accepted Formats	.mov/.mp4
Recommended Container	mov - Codec: h.264
Recommended Aspect ratio	1280x720 or 1920x1080 (16:9), 24fps (PAL), 25fps (PAL) or 30fps (PAL)
Recommended Resolution	720p or 1080p
Recommended File Transfer Rate	15,000 Kbit/s or 15 Mbit/s
Audio	48kHz sound PCM (only uncompressed) / AAC (if possible > 160 kBit/s)
File Size	Strictly not more than 4 GB

1. Your film submission is to be done in two formats -

a. Film File to be uploaded for viewing in CinéVault.

b. A password protected, watermarked link to your film for preview for CinéV-Spotlight and InTheWorks Lab curations.

2. Following a successful upload of your film file for CinéVault, you will receive an email confirming successful upload of your film.

3. Please make sure that the subtitles lie above the safe margins so that they do not miss the viewer’s eye because of different screen ratios.
