Cinévesture International Film Festival

Cinévesture International Film Festival (CIFF) is building a wider film culture in cities with an appetite for cinema viewing and for investing in the business and creative aspects of filmic content.

Chandigarh, situated at the foothills of the Himalayas in Northern India, is India’s first planned city designed by the renowned architect, town planner and artist La Corbusier. Chandigarh’s inherent understanding of art and design has been a thriving springboard for the first and second editions of CIFF.

CIFF’s first edition, held from March 27-31, 2024, was a great success with a footfall of over 1000 delegates

Ministry of Information and Broadcasting

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is one among the early Ministries set up after India’s Independence and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was India’s first Minister for Information and Broadcasting.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is one of the vital Ministries that represent the face of the government in reaching out to the masses. The Ministry is entrusted with the task of disseminating information about government policies, schemes and programmes through the different medium of mass communication covering radio, television, press, social media, printed publicity like booklets; posters, outdoor publicity including through traditional modes of communication such as dance, drama, folk recitals, puppet shows etc. The Ministry is also the focal point as regards policy matters related to private broadcasting sector, administering of the public broadcasting service- Prasar Bharati, multi-media advertising and publicity of the policies and programmes of the Union Government, film promotion and certification and regulation of print media.

The name of Haryana instantly conjures up the image of a State which astonishingly combines both-antiquity and plenty. The Vedic land of Haryana has been a cradle of Indian culture and civilization. Indian traditions regard this region as the matrix of creation of northern altar’ where Brahma performed the pristine sacrifice and created the universe. This theory of creation has been confirmed to a large extent by archaeological investigations carried out by Guy E. Pilgrim in 1915, who has established that 15 million years ago, early man lived in the Haryana Shivaliks. The Vamana Purana states that King Kuru ploughed the field of Kurukshetra with a golden ploughshare drawn by the Nandi of Lord Shiva and reclaimed an area of seven Kosas.

The popularity of Madhya Pradesh as a Film Shooting Destination has certainly grown over a period of time. The land of Khajuraho and Sanchi, the jungles of Kanha and Bandhavgarh, the Forts & monuments of Gwalior, Orchha and Mandu, the Culture of Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur and Gwalior offers film makers the most diverse Film making experiences. Various Bollywood films from Dilip Kumar's AAN (1952) to most recently shot films like Bhumi Pednekar’s Durgamati (2020), all were shot at the most exquisite locations in the "Heart of Incredible India" - Madhya Pradesh.

National Film Development Corporation

Incorporated in the year 1975, National Film Development Corporation Limited (NFDC) was formed by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, with the primary objective of promoting Indian cinema and showcasing it across the world.

Over the years, NFDC has produced noteworthy films with acclaimed filmmakers. Ghare-Baire (Satyajit Ray), Gandhi (Richard Attenborough), The Making of the Mahatma (Shyam Benegal), Salaam Bombay (Mira Nair), Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (Kundan Shah), Mirch Masala (Ketan Mehta), The Lunchbox (Ritesh Batra), The Good Road (Gyan Correa) to name a few.

With financial support extended to over 300 films in 21 regional languages, NFDC has helped facilitate an ecosystem to support the development, financing, and distribution of independent films across the country. These films have won numerous international and national accolades. Film Bazaar, the co-production initiative of NFDC has been an integral part of this process.

The French Institute / IFI (Institut français India) is a section of the Embassy of France responsible for connecting and implementing Indo-French human exchanges.
